• Georeferenciation

Being aware that georeferenced is remarkably growing all over the world, WorldVector is equipped with the most recent georeferencing technology available. This tool allows anyone equipped with a GPS device or mobile phone to find and access all possible information from a given location of interest, whatever it may be.

 • Surveying, reconnaissance and marking of pathways, trails and routes.

 • Sign placement.

 • Implementation of the licensing dossiers.

 • Designing brochures, guides, catalogues and related promotional material

 • Designing a georeferencing mobile app for smartphones in order to support tours through pedestrian routes. In a general way, we seek to develop an interactive system that could provide useful geographic/orientation, with contents that support landscape observation and understanding: fauna, flora, or points of interest such as: geo monuments, buildings, history, restaurants, housing, thermalism, etc. It should be able to alert the user to other outdoor activities that can be practiced in the county: Geocaching, mountain climbing, fishing, hunting, camping, etc.

 • Designing a Web Page

• Inventory of ecological elements and landscape points of interest, with scientific identification and cataloging of flora, fauna, priority habitats and plant communities.

• Diagnostic of ecological elements, landscape points of interest and the needs of conservation, recovery and preservation of flora, fauna, priority habitats, plant communities and landscape.

• Geographical referencing of flora, fauna, habitats and landscape elements of relevancy to the RFCN and cultural heritage.

These studies provide:

• Promotion of nature and biodiversity conservation, aiming to preserve priority habitats and protect endangered species, through integrated use of a sustained use of nature, backed in the support and promotion of tours to each specific place.

• Development of interventions that ensure the visitors tours with high quality and satisfaction standards, reinforcing the recognition of our natural heritage values, combined in a framework of nature and biodiversity preservation.

• Socio-economic stimulation of the zones placed in the National Network of Protected Areas, by promoting tours to their areas and natural heritage, in a framework of sustainability and promotion of biodiversity preservation.

• Commitment to territorial planning and management, considering the capacity of the environment and local specificity, ensuring familiarity with the existing natural and cultural resources, incorporated in tools for sustainability and heritage promotion.

Work developed:

• Characterizing the biodiversity of natural resources from the Fundamental Network for Nature Conservation in Macedo de Cavaleiros county.

• Study: "Inventory, diagnostic and cartographical reference of significant ecological elements and of landscape points of interest in Manteigas county."

• "Study and development of interpretation contents from the ecological, landscape and human relevant elements existing in Manteigas county, for further acknowledgment."

• "Study about the biodiversity in the Fundamental Network for Nature Conservation – Ribeira de Pena."

• "Study and development of interpretation contents from the ecological, landscape and human relevant elements existing in Manteigas county, for further acknowledgment."

Under the scope of this study, heritage and cultural categories are identified and characterized contemplating its location and description. Heritage and human issues are also discussed resorting to the analysis of the reality that constitutes the area of study.

The geographical survey is undertaken using a GPS receptor (with a precision of 1,5 meters).

The cultural and heritage elements analysis seeks to identify values of higher relevance, noting textual and iconographic data of technical, scientific and administrative nature about the built heritage. Here are some examples of this kind of heritage: watermills, water fountains, drinking fountains, gardens, old manors, rustic houses, etc.

Cultural heritage represents the identity of a region, people and/or civilization, which makes its protection necessary. For this, it's necessary to raise awareness among the citizens, providing them with knowledge about the historical, cultural and social value and what each monument, set and/or places of interest represent in each particular location.
